OH, SUGAR!
THERE GOES POLITICS
INTERACTIVE INSTALLATION
This project responded to the Group for International Design Enterprise's (GIDE) brief to design an interactive installation based on the mobile museum. It was inspired by the word 'wunderkammer' which was a 17th century way to showcase wealth and status through the display of exotic objects.
The installation explored the way that we collect and share our opinions, specifically political opinions. The toungue-and-cheek interaction used archetype to suggest a certain experience which was then flipped on its head. The interaction played with the deceptive front put up by politicians in todays political climate. 'Customers' approached with expectations about what was going to happen which were subverted to give unexpected depth. The user became aware that the vendor had been analysing them at the end of the interaction when they were presented with a stick of candy floss which visually showed their 'results'.
Below is a poster from the exhibition.
